Standing Ovation to Miss California for Sticking To Her Independent Beliefs!

Miss California Carrie Prejean, who became the bombshell of the Miss USA pageant by saying gay couples should not be allowed to marry, said her state sponsors urged her to apologise afterwards but she rejected the advice. Ms Prejean, 21, said officials from the Miss California USA pageant were worried that her comments would cost their contest financial backing and tried to prepare her for a string of post-pageant media interviews by discouraging her from discussing her religious beliefs.

“You need to apologise to the gay community. You need to not talk about your faith. This has everything to do with you representing California and saving the brand,” (my bold) She remembers being told.

If anyone forgot, Ms. Prejean was absolutely blasted and ripped apart in the mainstream media for voicing an INDEPENDENT belief re. gay marriage and blogger turned beauty queen judge (my question mark on that one!) Perez Hilton was given a pass for his slanderous attacks.

Because she didn’t subscribe to the view pushed upon us by the left/liberal media and their supporters,  and spoke up FOR marriage between a man and a woman-remember, she never spoke AGAINST same sex marriage. Just stood up for traditional beliefs-something shared by many more people than the gay rights activists and media would like you to believe.

Now that she is appearing UNPAID on a promotional campaign (No Offense) for a series of television ads launched by the National Organization for Marriage you can bet the media will be attacking her again.

From the nasty comments I’ve read thus far, as typical sheep go, the liberal critics are all blasting her for everything from the fact she had breast implants, to being dumb, to being racist, to being a m_r_n, to being a hate monger, to having an agenda (an AGENDA? Too funny as her critics have had and continue to have, a massive agenda!)  and the list goes on….and on….and on.

Arlen Specter and Murderer Ira Einhorn

Ira Who??

As nothing was mentioned about Arlen Specter’s association with convicted murder and hippy guru Ira Einhorn (who incidently was credited with founding  the recently celebrated “Earth Day” (I am sure most of the millions of participants have no idea this pathological sel-proclaimed guru had created the day!)

Between serving on the Warren Comsmission and becoming a senator, Specter was twice elected district attorney in Philadelphia, where he earned a tough-on-crime reputation.In 1979 when Specter was still a private practice lawyer considering running for the senate, his most famous case was a man named Ira Einhorn, known as  the “Unicorn” who had been arrested for the murder of his girlfriend. She had been missing for a year and her body was eventually found mummified in a trunk hidden in Einhorn’s closet.

Einhorn was a celebrated Philadelphia leftist with strong ties to the Philly elite-a group of folks Specter was pandering to for his upcoming senate campaign. So Specter agreed to represent Einhorn.

With the support of Philadelphia’s elite who couldn’t believe Ira would do such a horrible thing, (one after another of his high end elitist supporters took the stand in his defense), Specter was able to get Ira bail at the unheard of amount of $40,000.  Releasing murder suspects out on bail was absolutely unheard of, as was the $4,000 cash which was all that was needed to walk free and walk free he did….for 16 years Ira fled to France-living the good life until he was finally recaptured and brought to justice.

The point to this is that Specter’s political career even then was more important to him than justice or morally doing what was right. It was more important for Specter to schmooze with Philly’s elite to guarantee him a senate seat than was the prospect of a likely guilty man disappearing into thin air.

Just like now it is more important for the elderly Specter to keep a political seat at any expense. The Conservative party’s leanings have nothing to do with his defection. He defected for one reason and one reason only. He was going to lose the Republican primary if he stayed. Period.

And I highly doubt you’ll hear much about this important connection in the mainstream media.

5 Ways to Achieve Independent Thought

1. Disconnect from the Conventional Thinking of the day…

or….DON’T BE A SHEEP!

Instead of doping up your brain with a constant feed of Television News, PC and Newspaper articles, start thinking for yourself. Research the truth about things. You’ll be shocked to find out just how much news you ARE NOT getting about the state of the world and the state of politics. You are being fed a steady diet of propoganda.

Independent thinkers arent automatically contrarian, they just don’t don’t go with the status quo without researching the facts first.

2.  Check out experiences that are contrary to your current belief system.

CHALLENGE YOURSELF! Read a book you don’t agree with, check out subcultures that may have intimidated you, talk to people you normally wouldn’t give the time of day to. The point-not to change your own thoughts but to put a bump in the road of conventionality.

3. Try to watch the world unfold from an objective viewpoint.

Stand still and take yourself out of the equation for a minute. You can laugh at yourself and see your life unfold from new angles.

4. Get out of your Comfort Zone

Actively pursue new experiences and meet new people. If you want to be an independent thinker, lose the security blanket!

5. Don’t Believe Everything You Hear or Read!!

Instinctively distrust those thoughts relying on conventional wisdom. Don’t assume they are right because “it is stated” or the masses agree. Don’t make an opinion until you have researched all avenues first yourself.

LIFE IS SHORT and it is UP TO US TO MAKE SOMETHING OF IT!!
